The College Place
The College Place celebrated its two-year anniversary in August 2009, serving more than 1000 students and parents in 2009 alone. The center provides information and resources, such as college planning, college searching, goal-setting, financial aid, and cash for college workshops. The College Place is located in the Manchester Mall in Fresno and is housed with Fresno City College's Manchester Educational Resource Center. This project is funded by the California Partnership for the San Joaquin Valley, the City of Fresno and the Walter S. Johnson Foundation.
Hispanic Youth Symposium
The 4th annual Hispanic Youth Symposium will be held in summer 2010. This event "a partnership with the Hispanic College Fund" is a four day, three night program that brings more than 600 Central Valley high school sophomores and juniors students to Fresno State to experience college life, learn how to prepare for a professional career, get involved in community service, and meet role models and leaders from thriving businesses and industries.
